Last year I was approached by Vicky Plum of Wellington Wood to see if she could hold a Meet the Celebrant day here in our Cattle Shed. It was a resounding success and great to see so many of my celebrant friends, particularly Dawn Rees, who has conducted several weddings here at College Farm. On the back of that, Vicky came back for a photoshoot with the talented Clare Warren who was updating her beautiful calligraphy website and needed some new headshots - take a look at Clare's site & see what a brilliant photographer Vicky is! After that, Clare organised an amazing photoshoot here in January with a talented team of wedding suppliers that included Abi Vincent Photography, Bethany Smith Photography, Mooreish Cakes, The Bloom Room & Boomting Bunting. Next up was an inspiring workshop organised by Jamie Walker (she came to the Meet the Celebrant day) and Steph Baker who have set up SEED. Noemi from Thyme Lane Lifestyle (who I've admired from afar on Instagram for ages) came along to the SEED workshop and took some incredible photographs of The Cattle Shed. She's now coming back soon with a new group of fabulous suppliers for another photoshoot.
It is the realisation of several years of dreaming & planning that we've managed to save The Cattle & Goat Sheds from demolition and they are now being enjoyed by a new generation of holiday makers; couples looking for a romantic retreat; workshops; photoshoots and family gatherings to name but a few as well as the weddings we host in The Cattle Shed. My late parents would be so thrilled to see how College Farm has grown & transformed since we moved here.
Our next project is renovating The End Shed - a mini version of The Goat Shed at the end of our row of barns. We hope to be able to offer this next year for holidaymakers and wedding couples. Watch this space for building updates.
