We have added some new features that we hope will make the website easier to navigate – including a new online booking tool. We hope this will make it simpler to see when we have rooms available and book straightaway.

We have also had some great new photographs taken by Tori Hancock of some of the food that we offer here at College Farm. We hope this will whet your appetites to come & stay and sample some of Katharine’s cooking.

The last 18 months have been a strange time for us all and as we emerge from Covid and start getting our lives back to some kind of normality, we thought this was the time to relaunch with a new look website.

Since we reopened in May we have been rushed off our feet with guests & returning friends who have come to stay for rest, recuperation, and a chance to get away to somewhere different for a change of scene.

Unfortunately, the weather has been unusually bad for Norfolk this summer. Breckland is the driest part of the country, and we normally have the same rainfall as Jerusalem (though sadly not the same sunshine as Jerusalem!) but this year we have had rain, followed by more rain, followed by cold & damp weather. Despite the inclement weather our guests have thoroughly enjoyed their time at College Farm, and many have returned with friends for second & third visits in as many months.

One of the things that guests often comment on are the freshly baked cakes that we offer every day. We try and make a different cake each day but also like it when guests request a particular favourite. Recently we’ve had several requests for lemon drizzle cake and the ever popular Victoria Sponge – the first recipe that my mother taught me, so a special one in our repertoire as it brings back happy memories of my childhood baking in the kitchen with my mother.

Despite the bad start to the summer with less than perfect weather, we are now having an Indian summer with glorious sunshine, temperatures in the high 70s (perfect weather for drying the washing on the line!) and the promise of beautiful colours in the garden as autumn prepares to wow us with her display of nature preparing for winter.

We still have some vacancies if you fancy a trip to Norfolk and would like a few days away being looked after in our beautiful old house with just birdsong to interrupt the peace & tranquillity. We look forward to welcoming you to College Farm soon.
